Before we get to the P-Wing and gold Super Leaf, here’s why Mario needs those power ups. A storm blows the Tanooki leaves off a tree and when Princess Peach goes over to see what’s wrong Bowser nabs her. A letter flies by with a picture of Bowser holding Princess Peach informing Mario and three toadstools she’s been captured and Mario runs to her rescue again.
Lose five lives in a level and a golden super leaf will appear. Grab it to make Mario invincible. While invincible, Mario can run into enemies, even spiked balls, to defeat them.
Lose ten lives and a P-Wing appears. Unlike Super Mario Bros. 3, players don’t need to fly through a stage. As soon as you touch it, you’ll be warped to the goal.
Super Mario 3D Land comes out on November 13.
