Sumioni from Way of the Samurai developer Acquire turns the PlayStation Vita’s front touch screen to a canvas for players to "paint" on. Swiping the screen as if you were holding a magic brush draws platforms for Sumioni (the character) to jump on. The game’s magic ink meter also lets player summon a phoenix and create flames with their fingers.

The unique sumi-e art style and innovative gameplay makes Sumioni one of the standout Vita titles. And the game won’t be too far away from the Vita’s launch window, Sumioni is slated for release on February 9. Sumioni has not been announced for North America, but Acquire’s staff said to Siliconera it has a "better than average" chance of an overseas release.
