Rocksteady Studios has been working on DC Comics games for some time, and it seems that will continue. It revealed a Suicide Squad game will be its next project. However, people still have to wait a bit for the full announcement, which will arrive during the 24-hour long, August 22, 2020 DC Fan Dome.
This new Suicide Squad project was announced on Twitter with a single image. We can see Superman from behind, and there is a target on his head with a reticle that reads “Suicide Squad.” Rocksteady noted, “Target locked.”
This shouldn’t be too out of Rocksteady’s area of expertise. Since 2009, the developer has been focused on Batman games, so it is familiar with DC Comics. Its first was 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was followed by Arkham City, Arkham Knight, and Arkham VR. That last one launched in 2016, so it has been four years since we saw a project from the developer.
As for Suicide Squad itself, its a comic following villains, people considered expendable, who are tasked with completing missions for the government. In the 2016 movie, the team’s roster consisted of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Colonel Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang, El Diablo, Killer Croc, Katana, and Enchantress.
The Suicide Squad game is in development for unknown platforms. Its full reveal will come on August 22, 2020.
