While Street Fighter X Tekken is still coming to the PlayStation Vita, Vita owners will have to wait until fall to play the game, Capcom announced today. That having been said, there is a bright side to the long wait.

Street Fighter X Tekken on PlayStation Vita will include 12 new characters. From the Street Fighter side, we’ll get: Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka. Newcomers from the Tekken side will include: Alisa, Christy, Jack, Bryan, Lars and Lei.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will get to play Street Fighter X Tekken on March 6th in North America and on March 9th in Europe. A PC version will follow in May. There’s been no word on whether the Vita-exclusive characters will be made available in the HD versions of the game prior to its Vita release.

Update: We should mention, the ESRB has already hinted at Alisa, but for the console versions of the game…
