Street Fighter 6 Sales Surpass 2 Million Units Worldwide

Sales for Street Fighter 6 surpassed 2 million units worldwide. This number takes into account all platforms, as well as both physical and digital copies. Capcom uploaded a stylized picture of Juri next to a “Thank you” message onto its Twitter account for the series. To commemorate this milestone, Capcom will send all players a “token of its appreciation,” though it did not specify what it is in the tweet.

For reference, Street Fighter 6 came out on June 2, 2023. So that means it became a platinum title in a little over a month. A platinum title under Capcom’s standards is a game that has sold over a million units. Time will tell how many copies it will sell and if it will outperform its prequel, Street Fighter 5. Street Fighter 5 has, as of January 2023, sold over 7 million copies in under 7 years.

Ever since its launch, Street Fighter 6 has been a popular game for fighting game fans. At launch, over 64,000 players were online concurrently on Steam. This likely lead to issues regarding custom rooms back then, since the sheer amount of players caused server load.

Street Fighter 6 is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The first DLC character, Rashid, will come out on July 24, 2023.
