In March 2021, Pioneers of Olive Town had surpassed 700,000 units in sales, shortly after its initial Western release. The title launched for PC through the Steam storefront on September 15, 2021. The title has received numerous DLC updates, one of which includes the addition of a cosmetic DLC that allows for the player to dress as Sakuna from Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. This cosmetic DLC item is available entirely for free.

However, the title does feature some paid DLC. Additional story DLC was released for Pioneers of Olive town through an expansion pass. This has added new romanceable characters into the game, along with unique cosmetics. With the expansion pass, a total of sixteen NPCs are available as romance options. One of the most recent DLCs has added a new sub-scenario with the Earth Sprites and yukata cosmetics for the player character and NPCs.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is immediately available for Nintendo Switch and PC.
