Food, friends, and tools will all go a long way to helping a lone caveman survive their journey across the procedurally-generated fields of survival game StoneBack.
StoneBack offers endless 2D fields to explore, which also means an endless supply of dinosaurs looking to make the player into a meal. Not all of them are dangerous, though, as some will ignore the player or only attack should they get too close to their nests. It’s up to the player to figure them out and decide what to do with them.
Players can hunt for food, killing dinosaurs to gain meat for survival. Day/night cycles will assist the player in this, letting them sneak up on some dinosaurs or rob nests after dark.
Players don’t just have to hunt with their fists, as they can find materials and craft tools to use to make their lives easier. These items break with repeated use, though.
The player isn’t the only cave person out in the world. Players can meet other characters, taking on quests for them that will offer special rewards.
StoneBack is currently raising votes on Steam Greenlight.
