When people head to their (virtual) homesteads when they get spare time this holiday season, they’ll find some changes waiting for them. Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone confirmed on Twitter that the Stardew Valley 1.4 console patch has headed out on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This means people will have a chance to experience a new romantic event when married or ask a mysterious buddy to move in if they are single.
This Stardew Valley 1.4 console update is a big one. While some of its additions, like a 14-heart spouse event, fish ponds, and a new map were teased ahead of time, others were only revealed when the patch dropped. New hairdos can be chosen, people can tailor and equip clothing, and a whole new plot involving the Witch’s Hut and lore are there.
Concerned Ape also brought up the status of the mobile version of the Stardew Valley 1.4 update. It should be arriving on those devices in January 2020.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. The 1.4 update is immediately available for consoles and the PC, and it will also eventually head to mobile devices. It will not appear on the PlayStation Vita.
