Nintendo shared a gameplay overview trailer that highlighted what we can expect from the Star Fox Switch 2 reimagining and remake. Things begin with a reintroduction of the team and story, which features Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy heading to fight Andros and save the Lylat system. From there, we get to see the Campaign and the 4v4 Battle Mode multiplayer in action.

After bringing up the characters, we get to see the Arwing, Landmaster, and Blue-Marine and get reacquainted with the vehicles. The Arwing is the aerial ship we use most. Its standard weapons are a laser that hits one enemy, a charged shot that hits a group, and bomb with an AOE effect. Barrel rolls can repel shots, while somersaults are used for evasive manuevers. The Landmaster comes up in certain situations and puts us on the ground, shooting at enemies above. Finally, the Blue-Marine is a sub for underwater attacks. In the Campaign, we’ll use these at places like Corneria, Meteo, Sector Y, Solar, and Zoness, and objectives completion and results will determine how the story goes and our path. There will also be secret paths. Differences between difficulty levels are highlighted, and we also see how Challenge Mode adds to things. The video then closes out by showing the multiplayer challenges that await, highlighting how that will look with footage, GameShare details, and peeks at folks’ pilot avatars with the camera.

Here’s the full Star Fox overview trailer highlighting all elements of gameplay on the Switch 2.

Star Fox will come to the Switch 2 on June 25, 2026. As a reminder, this will be one of the games part of the Nintendo new mandate that makes digital copies cheaper than physical ones, as it costs $49.99 on the eShop and $59.99 at stores.
