According to the retailer, Star Fox 64 3D has three modes: 3DS mode, N64 mode, and Versus mode. 3DS mode utilizes the Nintendo 3DS’ gyro sensors for Arwing control. So, you can pilot Fox’s ship by tilting and lifting your 3DS.

Versus mode sets up battles with up to four players just like the Nintendo 64 game. Star Fox 64 3D supports download play, which means you only need one cartridge for multiplayer. The tweeter says versus mode will not have online battles over Nintendo Wi-Fi. A new feature in versus mode lets players take a picture with the inner camera. This shows up above your ship as a player icon similar to Ridge Racer 3D.

Star Fox 64 3D is slated for release on July 14 in Japan. Nintendo of America confirmed they will release the game in North America, but have not set a release date.
