SSSS.Dynazenon is a follow-up project to the 2018 anime, SSSS.Gridman, based on Denkou Choujin Gridman (also known as Gridman the Hyper Agent). Tsuburaya announced the new anime with a teaser visual last December, but this trailer gives us the first real look at the characters. Several key staff from SSSS.Gridman returns for SSSS.Dynazenon, including director Akira Amemiya, scriptwriter Keiichi Hasegawa, composer Shiro Sagisu, and character designer Masaru Sakamoto.

Trigger shared a closer look at the main character designs by Masaru Sakamoto:

Graphnica will also return to work on the 3DCG production.

As for SSSS.Gridman, it originally aired in October 2018 for 12 episodes. Funimation licensed and dubbed the series in English in several regions. We still don’t know much about the story for the follow-up series but based on the title, we can assume that it will involve the Dyna Dragon and God Zenon, to some extent.

A release date has yet to be announced for SSSS.Dynazenon. In case you missed it, a board game for SSSS.Gridman is coming to Japan in Fall 2020.
