Square Enix’s Smart Watch RPG Cosmos Rings Is Now Available In English And Japanese

We previously reported Square Enix’s announcement of the world’s first Apple Watch-exclusive RPG, Cosmos Rings. The game is now available in Japan, USA, UK, and Australia. Here are some screenshots.

Cosmos Rings is described as a full-scale RPG designed for Apple Watch, featuring nostalgia-evoking visuals to go with simple controls made for the Apple Watch. The game revolves around a time travel system that works alongside your steps taken on a daily basis.

As far as story goes, it takes place in a world where the Goddess has gone missing and time has stopped. Your role as the protagonist is to traverse the Rift and stand up against those who wish to see the flow of time stopped forever, and it won’t be an easy task.

The game requires an Apple Watch and works together with an iOS smartphone. You can check out some of its retro pixel art-style using the Apple Watch in the above screenshots. The game features simple automatic normal attacks but you’ll get to also use powerful skills and strengthen your sword as your make your way through the Rift.

An additional Apple Watch feature allows you to turn back the clock using the device’s Digital Crown. You might also get special messages upon meeting certain conditions.
