Square Enix Launches Studio Istolia With Former Tales of Producer Hideo Baba As Its Head

Square Enix announced a new RPG project, called Project Prelude Rune, and they’ve also announced the establishment of a new development studio called Studio Istolia.

The goal of Studio Istolia is to further build onto Square Enix Group’s vision to create new IP alongside existing Square Enix studios. Hideo Baba who has over 18 years of experience in game development, best known as the series producer for the Tales of series, will serve as the studio’s head.

Baba is working as the producer of Project Prelude Rune with an aim to create a new RPG with a new fantasy: unfolding across a vast land teeming with life. Nurtured by the earth, the many peoples of this land dare to dream fighting for what is just—and this is their tale.
