Square Enix Introduces Gestalt Odin’s Story And Crossover Characters

Square Enix has updated the official site for their mobile game being co-developed with Aiming, Gestalt Odin, to include details on the story as well as some of the characters who will be in the game.

 

Here are the highlights:

Story

The legend of Ragnarok tells a story of the gods’ defeat and the destruction of the world. In order to fight against their fate, the gods enlisted the help from many individuals who’s names were never recorded in legend.

The gods of Asgard summons the citizens of Tokyo in order to ascend them into gods known as “Extra Odin”, which hasn’t existed before. Meanwhile, the forces of evil from Niflheimr summon citizens from an alternate universe Tokyo in order to fight against the Extra Odin, as part of a force called Odin Xeno.

The only way to break through this current stalemate is to defeat and gain the powers of the “Seven deadly sins”, which have the power that rivals that of a god. This is a story of a struggle between two forces over the “Seven deadly sins”, which the fate of two Tokyos hanging in the balance.

While the game has its own original characters, crossovers are a core concept for Gestalt Odin. Players can expect a lot of crossover characters from other media to appear in Gestalt Odin as companion “Buddies” that you can bring on quests, beginning with Cinnamoroll who was announced alongside the game. However, the official website has revealed quite a few more characters who are set to appear in the game.
