Square Enix confirmed a printing error in the discs for FFVII Rebirth that affects physical copies in Japan. The error involves the contents of the Play Disc and Data Disc being found in the opposite disc.
The cause of this defect is due to an error during the manufacturing process at Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. Despite the printing error FFVII Rebirth is still playable with the mislabeled discs. Square Enix has offered instructions on how to proceed. Inster the black disc labeled as “Play Disc” to download the files for the game. Once the download is finished, use the white disc labeled as “Data Disc” to boot the game.
