Back in May 2015, Nintendo held a Splatoon Global Testfire event. A demo was released for Nintendo Wii U players to enjoy for a limited period of time, to allow people to go through a tutorial and participate in 4v4 Turf Wars. A Testfire revival has been announced, allowing people who don’t already own Splatoon to acquire the demo and play it between August 25-28, 2016.
The Splatoon Testfire demo is a limited event. People first download the demo from the Nintendo eShop to their Nintendo Wii Us, though those who still have it from last year’s testing periods do not need to redownload it. From 3pm-5pm PT on August 25-28, 4v4 Turf War matches will be available. People will be able to compete on the Saltspray Rig and Walleye Warehouse maps, using Splat Chargers, Splat Rollers, Splattershots, and Splattershot Jrs.
Splatoon is immediately available for the Nintendo Wii U. Over 4 million copies have been sold worldwide, and enough ink has been “used” in Splatfests and all modes to cover 3 million virtual miles.
