Nintendo fixed a major Splatoon 3 issue with the Inkbrush and Roller weapons in a new patch. 2.0.1. is now live in-game. When 2.0.0. appeared, it changed how both worked. Once applied, the new patch ensures the two deal damage and use ink as usual. A few other incidental glitches also ended up repaired in the update.
For a better idea of what was going wrong with Splatoon 3 Inkbrush and Roller weapons after patch 2.0.0, Wadsm showed one of the issues in a YouTube video. In certain maps, they weren’t dealing damage as they should. Nintendo also noted the ink decreasing and not working as expected as well.
Here are the full Splatoon 3 patch notes for 2.0.1 from the official site. In addition to the issue with two weapons, it eliminated two force quit bugs tied to the photo mode and equip menu.
Changes to Player Controls
- Fixed an issue that caused ink levels to immediately decrease when using a roller or brush close to the ground.
Other Fixes
- Fixed an issue that caused the game to force quit when the Equip menu is opened.
- Fixed an issue that caused the game to force quit during Photo Mode in recon if the player tried to close Photo Mode after using an amiibo.
- Fixed an issue that allowed temporary aliases set in Private Battles to be used in other modes.
Splatoon 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
