Nintendo announced the theme for the Splatoon 3 August 2023 Splatfest. The theme is about motivations, asking players what is most important to them: money, fame or love? The Splatfest will take place between August 11-14, 2023. Start and end times vary depending on your region.
Here is the official reveal:
SRL here with big news, a new Splatfest approaches!
This time the question is:
What’s most important in life?

As always, each of the three choices will be represented by a member of Deep Cut. Money is the choice for Shiver, while Frye is seeking Fame. Big Man, the purest of the trio, is fighting for Love.
The August 2023 Splatfest theme is similar to one that’s been held in previous Splatoon titles. A Japanese Splatfest in the first Splatoon asked players to choose between Love or Money, while a similar European event asked if players would prefer to be Fit or Rich. Love vs. Money returned in Splatoon 2 for Japan and North America, but Europeans were instead asked if they wanted pickles on their burgers.
The August 2023 Splatfest will be the eighth Splatfest in Splatoon 3. The last theme was ice cream flavors, with vanilla almost winning a clean sweep. Before that, themes have included Pokemon types, parts of the Triforce from The Legend of Zelda, cryptids and what players would take to a deserted island. There was also a theme in a pre-release event asking players to choose between rock, paper and scissors.
Splatoon 3 is out now for Nintendo Switch. The new Splatfest kicks off on August 12, 2023.
