Splatoon 2’s Version 4.3.0. Update Launches December 5 With New Weapons And Gear Abilities

Splatoon 2 is getting its next update with Version 4.3.0. on December 5 in Japan that adds several new weapons and a couple new Gear Abilities in Bomb Defense Up DX and Main Power Up.

In ver. 4.3.0 we’ll be introduces to two new Gear Abilities. Bomb Defense up DX replaces both Bomb Defense up and Cold-Blooded as a combination of the two. Existing gear, ability chunks, and drink tickets will also be automatically converted with the updated.

Main Power Up is another new ability. This appears in both primary and secondary gear slots and it comes with different effects based on each main weapon.

 

Here are some examples on what kind of effects it has with various weapons:

  • Splattershot: Increases shot accuracy when firing while jumping.
  • Aerospray MG: Increases ink coverage.
  • Splat Roller: Increases damage.
  • Heavy Splatling: Increases duration of firing in a burst.
  • Undercover Brella: Speeds up Brella canopy regeneration.
  • Inkbrush: Slightly increases movement speed while inking.

With 4.3.0 being the last update that adds new weapons, it will add the fourth set of the Toni Kenso weapons in addition to the above four new weapon.

Splatoon 2 is available for Nintendo Switch. The Version 4.3.0 update launches December 5 in Japan, or sometime in the evening of December 4 in North America.
