Earlier this year, Nintendo announced a change to the Splatoon 2 update schedule. Previously, new additions would arrive every week, but starting in June 2018, it went to a method where there would be one big content drop at the beginning of each month that would add new weapons and a new stage. While previous updates happened appeared just as June 2018, July 2018, and August 2018 were ending, the official Tumblr says September 2018’s update will arrive in “early September.”

In addition to the delayed new content drop, it has been announced via the Tumblr that a Splatoon 2 stage is undergoing renovations. On August 31, 2018, Starfish Mainstage will be temporarily unavailable for Regular, Ranked, and League matches. The blog does note that people who arrange private matches with friends can still select this stage in Private Battle. Nintendo did not note what this maintenance will entail.

Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
