The Nintendo Switch Online paid subscription service goes live in September, but despite Splatoon 2’s online-centric gameplay, producer Hisashi Nogami is not concerned that the paid online will affect the online population in any major way. [Thanks, Polygon!]

While Nogami doesn’t think it will have no influence whatsoever, the Splatoon 2 team will be redoubling their commitment to the community, and will reaffirm for them that the game will continue to be supported.

This falls in line with what is known about Splatoon 2 post-Nintendo Switch Online – during E3, Nogami announced that weapon and stage updates will continue past the original July 2018 end date, and will end in December 2018 instead.

Splatoon 2 is available on Nintendo Switch.
