Inklings will face a whole new set of challenges in Splatoon 2’s recently revealed single-player campaign, Hero Mode. The official Twitter account has been sharing a look at some of the villains we’ll face in the upcoming Switch shooter.
Here’s the latest from the enemy Octarians. It looks like they’ve been making new friends and are strategizing ways to ruin the squid world. You can see that they’ve also developed new weapons ranging from a blimp to a giant bowling ball.
This guy here is a samurai octopus enemy. It wields a giant Roller and attacks using it like a sword or can even chase you down as a regular Roller weapon.
These are known as the Octoling. They have the ability to transform into octopi, just like Inklings are able to change into squids. The two actually have quite a lot in common, including the types of weapons they can use as well as their movements.

Here’s another new kind of octopus villain. They’re troublesome enemies that can run about scattering Splat Bombs.
