Since the reveal of SoulCalibur VI at The Game Awards earlier this month, some fans have been wondering about the chances of a Switch version, and producer Motohiro Okubo had a bit to share on that in an interview with Metro’s GameCentral.

GameCentral: Is there any chance of a Switch version, so we can have Link again? [Link was the guest character in the GameCube version of SoulCalibur II – GC]

Motohiro Okubo, Producer: SoulCalibur VI development started more than three years ago. And nobody knew anything about Switch back then. So, as a matter of fact we are not working on Switch, as of now. But of course, personally, I’m interested in the platform. So if the Unreal Engine can adapt to Switch, and evolve itself, then maybe the possibility will be more.

SoulCalibur VI releases in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check our previous report for more from the developers in a recent interview. You can also catch its latest batch of screenshots here.
