PSP had a great run since it launched in 2004. Sony’s handheld made the Monster Hunter a phenomenon and has a healthy supply of RPGs including Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes series. Alas, it’s time to say good bye to the PSP. Sony will stop shipping new systems in June.
Sony is running a promotion to get users to upgrade. If you live in Japan and own a PSP you can trade it in to get credit towards a PlayStation Vita or PlayStation Vita TV. PSPgo and PSP-2000 series systems are worth 2,000 yen. The PSP-3000 series will be worth 4,000 yen. The promotion will last between June 3 to August 29 and vouchers must be used by October 31, 2014.
