Sonic Mania Plus Announced

Sega has revealed Sonic Mania Plus at its SXSW 2018 panel. It will be released in Summer 2018. It will be available physically for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $29.99. People with digital copies of Sonic Mania will be able to get the new content via a DLC update.

 

Sonic Mania Plus will have a number of new features. Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo, from SegaSonic the Hedgehog, will both be playable. A four player competition mode will be added. There will also be a new Encore Mode, which has remixed versions of zones.

 

Details on the physical Sonic Mania Plus edition contents were also revealed on Twitter. It will come with the game in a holographic package, a reversible Sega Genesis cover, and a 32-page art book.

 

In addition, a Sonic Mania Adventures YouTube series of five minute short cartoons will be released. Tee Lopes, who did the music for Sonic Mania, will be handling the music.

 

 

Sonic Mania is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
