SNK Gals’ Fighters, the Neo Geo Pocket Color-exclusive fighting game featuring female characters from all over SNK’s series, seems to be heading to Nintendo Switch. A rating for the game was found in the South Korean ratings board system. According to the rating, SNK Gals’ Fighters is being published by Inplay Interactive. [Thanks, @gatoray_kof on Twitter!]

For those unfamiliar with SNK Gals’ Fighters, it’s essentially the 2D fighter where characters like Mai Shiranui, Nakoruru, Shiki, Leona, and more were pitted against each other in a tournament organized by the mysterious Miss X. (For those who have played SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, yes, this is actually Iori wearing women’s clothing.) While most of the characters are from established games, this game also marked the playable debut of Yuki, the girlfriend of Kyo Kusanagi from The King of Fighters series. She acts as a hidden boss and an unlockable playable fighter and hasn’t appeared in any other games as a playable character since. Yuki is essentially a normal schoolgirl, and fights with slaps, yells, and her schoolbag.

Later on, SNK Heroines would come along and serve as something of a spiritual sequel to the game, although it has a much different focus and graphical style compared to the former game.

SNK Gals’ Fighters seems to be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. The game was originally released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Another Neo Geo Pocket game that recently came to the Switch was Samurai Shodown! 2, which released as a bonus with the Switch version of Samurai Shodown.
