Yoshitaka Amano is revered for his work in animation and video games, and perhaps some of his most well-known work has been for the Final Fantasy series. His latest artbook is called Amano Illustrations, and it showcases Amano’s process from concept to completion though pencil sketches and full-color pieces.

Although the book features work from throughout his extensive career, Final Fantasy fans can catch a glimpse of the pages focusing on his work for the gaming series in the video above. In the preview, key artwork from several series are featured, including the Warrior of Light from the original Final Fantasy, Firion from Final Fantasy II, and Golbez from Final Fantasy IV. Amano also appears to share his thoughts on his work in a section called “Amano on Final Fantasy.”

Amano Illustrations costs $19.99 and goes on sale August 9 in North America.
