Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Super Smash Blog went into the tiniest of details with Olimar and Little Mac this week. Pokémon Stadium also makes a return with some new screenshots, and ‘Seaskape’ from Splatoon got an arrangement as well.
#40 Olimar
Captain Olimar battles by issuing commands to various types of Pikmin under his control. Pikmin come in different colors that correspond to different abilities. Olimar’s alternate appearance lets you play as Alph!
#49 Little Mac
As a boxer, Little Mac fights with his fists alone—no kicks! When his Power Meter fills up, he can use a special KO Uppercut, which can really turn a battle around. For his Final Smash, he turns into Giga Mac and pummels the opponent with a furious rush of punches!
Yuri Kozukata – New Assist Trophy
The protagonist of the Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water game is now an assist trophy. If she gets you with her Camera Obscura you’ll be paralyzed for a short time, so watch out!
Pokémon Stadium – Returning Stage
After ten years, it’s back! In addition to the basic stadium formation, the stage also switches between Fire, Water, Rock, and Grass variations. If you want to win on this stage, you’ll have to alter your strategy based on the current formation!
Spirits
There are two kinds of spirits. Primary spirits boost the physical abilities of the fighter you equip them to, while support spirits provide special skills. Try out different combinations to power up your fighters!
Seaskape – New Arrangement
You can now listen to Seaskape. The tune you know and love from Splatoon is now in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Hirokazu Tanaka’s new arrangement lends the track a more relaxed, mature vibe.
Arrangement supervisor: Hirokazu “Hip” Tanaka (known for work on Metroid, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Land, Dr. Mario, Mother, and more)
