Typing games appear to be making a bit of a comeback nowadays. First, there was Learn with Pokémon: Typing Adventure, then the recently-released Typing of the Dead: Overkill, and now, Skullgirls is getting a typing mode, too.

EventHubs reports that Skullgirls Encore, a new version of the game on its way to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, will include a new “The Typing of Skullgirls” mode, which will let you perform extra damage to your opponent for correctly typing in an on-screen word after performing a super move.

If performed correctly, the attack will do 1.5 times more damage than usual. Meanwhile, typing most of the word correctly (but not all of it) will not affect damage at all. Finally, failing the process entirely will result in the move doing 10% less damage.

The typing mode will not work in online or tournament mode.
