Silent Hill 2 Remake Patch Keeps James From Getting Stuck

Konami released an update patch for the Silent Hill 2 remake which includes some technical updates, such as reduced visual glitches and stuttering, but also fixes an issue concerning protagonist James Sunderland getting stuck on objects. The full patch notes are pretty lengthy, and cover a total of two sections: technical and gameplay. Several fixes have been rolled out across the PlayStation 5 and PC version.

As mentioned above, the Silent Hill 2 remake Patch 1.04 will stop James from getting stuck on objects, such as windows. However, the gameplay issues that have been resolved with this patch seem pretty significant. As it includes fixes to the Abstract Daddy’s A.I., James teleporting to the other side of the Brookhaven Hospital if you looked through the wrong peephole, and more.

Other fixes include collision, the ability to pick up items during boss fights (which seems pretty major), and things as inconsequential as the deformation of the skirt on the Nurse enemies.

Shortly after it’s release on October 8, 2024, Konami announced the Silent Hill 2 remake had sold over 1 million copies worldwide. This makes the remake the fastest selling Silent Hill title to date. However, it has not yet cinched the title of being the best selling Silent Hill title, as that still goes to the original.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
