Should You Side With The Hunter or The Emissary in Starfield?

The grand finale of the main story in Starfield leaves you with a couple of fascinating choices: do you side with The Hunter or The Emissary in your pursuit of Unity? This is a tough choice and it ultimately determines what happens to your character in the ending.

Should You Side With The Hunter or The Emissary in Starfield?

As you might expect, there are some massive spoilers ahead for the main story of the game, though I will try to tread as lightly as possible. Throughout the main story of Starfield, you are in search of all the artifacts to lead you to the Unity and the center of the galaxy.

But The Hunter and The Emissary try and stop you along the way. At some point near when you visit Earth, you have to choose which of these Starborn you’ll side with. Do you side with the immortal version of the leader of the Sanctum Universalum church or your best buddy?

This choice may seem like one where you should already have the answer, especially when The Hunter tried to whatever he could to take you out earlier in the plot. However, the answer isn’t nearly as clear-cut as that. After all, there is a third route you can take.

You can opt to not side with either of the two, which is what I did and recommend to everyone. This results in a tough space battle against the two and a potential final battle against both of them, if you aren’t able to persuade them differently. This is the optimal choice to make since you forge your own path and break the trends of before.

But if you have to make a choice between these two, I would go with The Emissary.

Starfield is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
