One of the most important decisions players have to make in the main story of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is whether to go to Minrathous or Treviso and save the city. It is a challenging choice that has a lot of effects, both in the world and in your party. Thankfully, here’s what you need to know to make the right decision here.
Minrathous vs. Treviso Story Quest Choice, Explained
On Deadly Wings is one of the most important and surprising quests in the main story. It pops up out of nowhere with little warning. Once the player goes back to the Lighthouse with the companion Darvin, you have to pick to save either Minrathous or Treviso. Both cities are being attacked by a dragon and you only can save one of them.
I will note right now: both cities will survive regardless. You will be able to go to the city you don’t pick but you’ll have to find all fast travel locations again and it will be completely different with less merchants. In addition, most side quests, including companion ones, will be failed forever if you didn’t already complete them.
Perhaps most importantly of all, this decision will affect two of your companions and their faction. If you pick Treviso, Neve will become hardened towards you and it will affect the Shadow Dragons. On the other hand, if you pick Minrathous, Lucanis will now be hardened to you and it will affect the Antivan Crows.
Should You Save Minrathous or Treviso in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
The decision to save Minrathous or Treviso in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will come down to your personal preferences. It was a tough decision for me particularly because I like the city of Minrathous more but I prefer Lucanis over Neve. If you have a clear favorite between these cities and their associated companions, it is an easy pick.
What I will say is don’t let the hardened status of your companion deter you. You can still romance that character, but it will be considerably more challenging. Their bond will go up much slower compared to the other party members. In the end, I picked to save Minrathous since I like this city more but you pick which option fits your character best.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available right now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
