Should You Go to the Goblin Hideaway or Somon in Romancing SaGa 2?

Early on in the story of Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, players will have two options for Gerard. The first is to go to the Goblin Hideaway dungeon while the other option is to go straight to Somon and try to defeat Kzinssie. Goblin Hideaway vs. Somon and Kzinssie Decision, Explained

Soon after Gerard takes over as the next emperor in Avalon, you have a challenging decision to make. The goblin hordes attack the city and you have to quickly defend it from them. After defeating them, you have two options: go to the Goblin Hideaway and finish them off for good or go after the first of the seven heroes.

This is a tough decision since the game doesn’t make it clear which is the right one to pick. In addition, it doesn’t make it clear if there are consequences for not doing one or the other. I will tell you right now there is no actual consequence I can see for doing one or the other first. As such, it comes down to pure preference what to do first.

Should You Visit the Goblin Hideaway or Kzinssie in Somon in Romancing SaGa 2?

If you want my personal opinion for whether you should visit the Goblin Hideaway or fight Kzinssie in Somon first in Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, I will suggest going to the Goblin Hideaway every single time. Like I mentioned, there is no consequence I can find if you skip this more optional part. This is even though the game says they could attack the city again.

However, you should still do this first because the dungeon will give you some much-needed money and XP. That XP will be useful for raising your HP, BP, and weapon/spell levels. You will want as much of this as you can get since the fight against Kzinssie is going to be much harder the second time than it was the first time you battled him.
