The Blessing of the Welkin Moon, or Welkin Moon, is a subscription that you can pay for in Genshin Impact in order to receive 90 Primogems every day for 30 days. Since this does require some real-world money, it’s important to consider the pros and cons before paying for it. Whether you purchase this or not depends entirely on how much you play and what kind of person you are.
Why you should get the Welkin Moon in Genshin Impact
For starters, the Welkin Moon costs $4.99 and the maximum amount of Primogems you can get is 3000. You receive a total of 2700 from the daily Primogems, as well as 300 Genesis Crystals after you make the purchase. 3000 Primogems equates to around 20 pulls. That’s not too bad, considering that hard pity for a character is 90 pulls.
As a note, it costs $49.99 to get 3280 Genesis Crystals in the store. That’s not including the first-time purchase bonus. You can get the 3000 all at once, of course. But it costs significantly more to receive the same amount of in-game currency as the Welkin Moon. If you log in every day, plan on playing Genshin Impact seriously, and can spare the money, then the Welkin Moon is a great investment.
Why you shouldn’t get the Welkin Moon in Genshin Impact
There are multiple reasons why you shouldn’t get the Welkin Moon. For one thing, this is real money we’re talking about. Some people simply don’t want to spend money in gacha games. Another reason is that you need to log in every day or else you won’t get the maximum 3000 Primogems. The game does not “store” the Primogems for you. If you miss a day and then log in later, you’re not going to get 180 Primogems. You’ll still only receive 90. So if your schedule might make logging in every day difficult, then it might be better to wait until you can commit.
Another reason is that this is a tactic to make you spend more in the future. Gacha is the same as gambling. $4.99 isn’t that expensive, so you input your payment details and purchase it. Now that your payment details are in the game, purchasing in-game items is as easy as clicking on it in the store. If you fear for your self-control and don’t want the temptation of using money in the game, then it might be safer to avoid buying it.
Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The Xbox Series X version will come out on November 20, 2024.
