Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate Journeys to Switch and PC in 2020

Back during the Nintendo Direct Mini earlier this year, the Japanese side of Nintendo included an announcement for Mystery Dungeon fans. Luckily that news is no longer region-locked, as Spike Chunsoft is bringing the Shiren the Wanderer Switch and PC goodness to North America. Retaining its localized title from the Aksys Games-published PS Vita version, Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate is headed to the Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2020.

Shiren and his talking ferret buddy koppa have had a rough time of it hoofing their way to North America. There are five canonical Shiren the Wanderer titles so far (with multiple spinoffs), but only three total have been localized here. They’ve all hopped publishers too, with Sega localizing the Nintendo DS port of the original, Atlus (pre Sega-merger) publishing the third game for Wii, and Aksys Games publishing part 5 (this one) for the PS Vita. Now that Spike Chunsoft is mostly self-publishing, perhaps this release could be a new chapter in Shiren the Wanderer‘s western presence.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate is available now for the PS Vita, and will launch for the Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.

Lucas writes about video games a lot and is a former Siliconera editor. Sometimes he plays them. Every now and then he enjoys one. To get on his good side, say nice things about Dragon Quest and Musou. Never mention the Devil May Cry reboot in his presence. Backed Bloodstained on Kickstarter but all his opinions on it are correct regardless.
