Sega has a new role playing game for PSP called Shining Ark. The story begins when Panis, a girl with one black wing, drifts ashore on an island. Freed finds Panis and takes care of her.
Ever since Panis arrived Nephilim, a colossal monster, attacks the village when the moon glows red. This monster is so huge Freed pokes at its toes.
Shining Ark uses an active & command battle system for monster battles. You can move around the battlefield, guard, dash, and if you’re close to an enemy you can attack using one of your character’s commands. Each character has their own attacks and you can bring four party members into battle. Panis has a unique battle system that Sega will explain later on.
When you’re not defending the village from pirates or fighting huge monsters, you do everyday island life stuff. Shining Ark has players tend to a vegetable garden, gather dairy products like eggs and milk, and bake bread. The scope sounds similar to Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, well if Natsume’s games had pirates.
Of course, Shining Ark has a fishing mini-game, it’s like a RPG prerequisite.
Players can also hunt monsters for materials.
Shining Ark is slated for release on PSP this winter.
