The game originally released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan in February 2003 . The expanded director’s cut version, titled Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax, released in North America as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne in October 2004. The European version followed in July 2005 as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call.

While details are still light for now, it’s been revealed that a new “Merciful” difficulty will be added to the game. This difficulty will make it easier for new players. However, those who prefer more of a challenge will still get to select the Hard difficulty.
