WayForward has released a new E3 2015 trailer for its upcoming 2D adventure-platformer Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. It shows of the game’s colorful HD graphics and also sees Shantae transforming into a monkey and a crab to beat the challenges she faces.
The footage in the video is all taken from the "E3 2015 Backer Build," which was rolled out to those who backed the game’s Kickstarter at the “Early Access” tier. If you’re one of those people, you can find instructions on how to get your hands on the build in this Kickstarter update.
Due to raising nearly $1 million in funding during the game’s Kickstarter last year, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be almost twice the size it was originally intended to be, with five chapters, and intro and ending stages. It’ll also let you feature multiple game modes that will let you play as other characters from the Shantae universe, including the zombie Rottytops, the bird trainer Sky, the bumbling warrior Bolo, and the nefarious pirate Risky Boots. Shantae will also get Ninja, Beach wear and Patty Wagon outfits.
Despite being the fourth game in the Shantae series, Half-Genie Hero will be the first one to be a true cross-platform HD title, as it’s coming to PC, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
