Sequel to Ghost of Tsushima Announced at State of Play

Ghost of Yōtei, sequel to Ghost of Tsushima was announced during the September 2024 State of Play showcase. Set in 1603, the game follows a new protagonist, Atsu, as he journeys through the treacherous lands surrounding Mount Yōtei.

The trailer showcases a vast open world filled with new environments, including sprawling grasslands and snowy tundras, offering a contrast to its predecessor. Players can expect a range of threats, from rival ronin to hostile factions, all hunting Atsu as he seeks to uncover the mysteries of the region in this upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima

In case you missed it, Ghost of Tsushima reached a major milestone back in January 2022, with Sony confirming the game surpassed 8 million copies sold. Originally launched in July 2020, the game saw continued success with the release of the Director’s Cut, which included the Iki Island expansion. This update followed previous milestones of 5 million copies sold within its first four months and 6.5 million by March 2021.

Ghost of Yōtei is Slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5. Ghost of Tsushima is available on the PS4. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is also available for the PS4 and PS5.
