The expansion of Sengoku Basara continues! First came the games. Then came the anime. Then came the live-action TV series. Then came the movie edition of the live-action TV series. And now, we have a musical.

The musical will be performed in Japanby the Takarazuka Revue, the same group that performed two shows based on the Ace Attorney series.

Both productions, Capcom say, were “enormous hits” with the shows recording a total attendance exceeding 50,000. Along with the Sengoku Basara musical, the Takarazuka Revue are also working on a “Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney 3” musical, which will debut in January.

The Sengoku Basara musical will “present the life of warlords in a dramatic fashion with the romantic touch that is the trademark of the Takarazuka Revue,” Capcom said in their announcement.

The show will feature Takarazuka’s top two stars—Tomu Ranju and Hana Ranno (above)—with Kei Suzuki working on the script and staging.
