FromSoftware’s action game and GOTY winner, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is releasing its spinoff manga featuring Hanbei the Undying next month in Japan.
Kadokawa originally serialized the Sekiro spinoff manga in its free manga site ComicWalker. It stars Hanbei the Undying, who appears in the game as an unkillable NPC and training partner to Sekiro. The mangaka, Shin Yamato, previously worked on the art for Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter and Narakunoadu.
Yen Press released the first chapter of the manga in English last year as Sekiro Side Story: Hanbei the Undying #1. The new release features the full manga with 212 pages, including four specially illustrated pages.
Here’s a look at the full cover art for the manga:
The Sengoku Era… A time when losing a battle meant losing it all. The Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina, aims for world domination… That is until he encounters a certain samurai…
Sekiro: Side Story of Hanbei the Undying releases in Japan on February 27, 2020. It’ll go for 748 yen.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice released worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 22, 2019. A three-disc original soundtrack releases this March.
