There’s a new reason to regularly visit the official website for Phantasy Star Online 2: a comic. Sega announced it will localize installments of PSO2COMI: Phantasy Star Online 2 Comic. The first two episodes of the Pekeko series are now available to read.
Appropriately enough, the first installment of PSO2COMI involves Mitarashi and her friend, Tetra, as they celebrate New Year’s and make wishes. The second continues off of the remarks of the first game, while also playing with the notion that someone might be much different in real-life compared to their virtual MMORPG avatar. Be sure to scroll to the very bottom of the first episode’s page to get a PSO2COMI Memory Visiphone code to trade for a collaboration item.
While this is the first worldwide exposure to the series, the Phantasy Star Online 2 Comic has been around a while in Japan. Characters from Pusonicomi, as its known there, have even appeared on merchandise. The series also has a 20 episode web animation in Japan.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is available on the Xbox One and PC worldwide. It is also available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan. Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is in development and will appear on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC in Japan in 2021.
