Sega working on a Golden Compass game

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

Like every other video game company Sega has slowly been moving into the movie market. This year they have a game based on the Golden Compass trilogy, His Dark Materials. Sega’s title isn’t directly based on the book, it’s based on New Line Cinema’s movie adaptation. Players play as Lyra who travels with her dameon Pan as she searches to rescue her friend that was kidnapped by The Gobblers. Besides playing as a human, you can also play as Iorek Byrnison, an armor wearing polar bear. There are thirteen different areas to explore, some of which won’t be seen in the film. Shiny Entertainment, who is no stranger to making movie to video game adaptations, is handling the game, which comes out for the Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS and PC this holiday season. Is this the “secret” title Sega is working on or is this it?
