Like Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, and Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoVerse’s Zenless Zone Zero characters will each be tied to different element Attributes and Fighting Styles. The company went over the five Attributes and three Fighting Styles, as well as Attribute Anomaly Effects that can trigger.

The five element options in Zenless Zone Zero are the Electric, Ether, Fire, Ice, and Physical Attributes. Enemies can be weak to these Attributes. Even if not, Anomaly Buildup happens when an attack involves these five elements. This could, say, freeze an opponent if someone used Ice abilities or shock them with Electric ones. The Attribute Mastery stat can increase the power of the Attribute Anomaly status effects. A Machine-type enemy like a Guardian would be weak to Electric, as an example.

As for the Zenless Zone Zero fighting styles, three were mentioned. Pierce, Slash, and Strike will appear. Pierce’s icon involved a bullet, suggesting ranged attacks. The Slash and Strike icons had a sword slash and a boxing glove punch on them, meaning people could expect close-range melee hits.

This is the second time in November 2023 that HoYoVerse got into the details about Zenless Zone Zero gameplay. The company also went over three of the different kinds of enemies players will encounter when taking on a mission in a Hollow. The human ones will be Hollow Raiders. There will also be rogue machines. Finally, there will be the Ethereals that are essentially monsters that make a Hollow their home.

Zenless Zone Zero is currently in development for PCs, mobile devices, and unspecified consoles. A second Equalizing Test closed beta will appear on PC and mobile devices eventually.
