See the Splatoon 3 Deep Cut Shiver, Frye, and Big Man amiibo Unlocks

Back in August 2023, Nintendo noted that there would be Splatoon 3 Deep Cut amiibo of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man. Now, ahead of their November 2023 release, we know what they do. There’s a new video showing off the unlocks tied to each figure. It briefly goes over what happens when each character is scanned in, then shows the resulting gear we can equip after doing so.

The Splatoon 3 trailer begins with a quick peek at the three amiibo. Then, it focuses on the Frye one. It shows the head gear, shirt, and sandals you get for scanning her in. (As pants are based on presets for all characters, you can’t get hers.) After that, it focuses on Shiver and the outfit that comes from scanning that amiibo. Finally, the Big Man amiibo unlocks a parka with his pattern on it.

These aren’t the only amiibo designed specifically for this installment. Back when the game was announced, Nintendo confirmed there would be three more general figures tied in to the game. They are based on a generic Inkling character, a generic Octoling, and a Smallfry, the Salmonid mascot who works alongside the player in the campaign. Those launched in November 2022.

Splatoon 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch, and the Shiver, Frye, and Big Man Deep Cut amiibo release on November 17, 2023.
