Sony has released a new video with insight from Capcom producer Peter Fabiano that takes a look at both the 1999 original and 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3. It shows how Capcom has taken the source material and remade it.
Check it out below:
The video goes over things like how the visuals of Raccoon City were updated, as well as how features like environmental hazards have been brought into the remake. While Jill’s look has been updated a bit, her personality retains what makes her who she is. Things like using gunpowder to create ammo were introduced in Resident Evil 3 and have since returned here and there in the series. While Live Events, where you make one of two choices that can alter the scenario, have been removed, the scenes have been remixed so that they’ll have a bit of a twist to them compared to the original.
Of course, the centerpiece of the game is Nemesis, the prototype Tyrant sent to hunt down Jill and S.T.A.R.S. members. Apart from being bigger, Nemesis has been made even more aggressive and nimble in order to make the fear of facing him fit in with modern games.
Resident Evil 3 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020. A demo has also been promised, but it is not yet available. You can check out our translation of a Famitsu interview with the game’s creators here.
