See How the One Piece Manga Volume 107 Cover Was Drawn

Ahead of the release of volume 107 of the One Piece manga, a video showing how the cover was drawn appeared on social media. It showed Eiichiro Oda’s process for designing one of these illustrations. This means people got a chance to see some of the other designs, which featured characters like Luffy and Sabo.

Here’s the full design for the next volume of One Piece in Japan. The video shows how things began with digital sketches, which showed some of the potential concepts and characters who might have appeared. Then, by the 30 second mark, the final design comes together and we see how the resulting cover will look.

As a reminder, the English localizations of the One Piece manga are behind, so it will be a while before we see 107. The next entry to appear in North America will be 104, which will show up on November 7, 2023. Given it is three to four months between English releases of volumes, we should see 107 in 2024. In July 2023, 103 appeared in North America and 106 appeared in Japan.

Volume 107 of the One Piece manga will release in Japan on November 2, 2023. Viz Media handles the series in North America. The anime is on Crunchyroll, and the live-action adaptation and some anime seasons are on Netflix.
