Sometimes, games appearing on Nintendo platforms contain easter eggs that reference other titles. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is one of those titles, as Koei Tecmo. Fatal Frame titles often offer alternate costumes for its heroines, and this one takes cues from Metroid and The Legend of Zelda.

There is one Nintendo costume for each Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water heroine. Miu Hinasaki, daughter of the original game’s Miku, can dress as Zelda. Yuri Kozukata has a Zero Suit Samus jumpsuit. Both costumes need to be unlocked before they can be used, though the conditions haven’t been revealed for them yet.

This isn’t the first Fatal Frame to offer Nintendo costumes. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse had an unlockable Zero Suit Samus suit for Ruka and a Luigi outfit for Misaki.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Wii U eShop on October 22. It will be $49.99. The first two chapters can be played for free.
