A sequel to the Fullmetal Alchemist stage play will appear in Japan some time in early 2024. The first one was held in early March 2023, and Blu-Rays and DVDs of it be available starting on August 30, 2023 in Japan. The first releases of the Blu-Rays and DVDs will come with a lottery application for the sequel’s tickets.
Sachiko Ishimaru will return as the scriptwriter for the second stage play. Yohei Isshiki and Ryota Hirono will reprise their roles as Edward Elric. These two actors were double-casted as Edward, which means that Hirono would portray him on one day and Isshiki would the next. Roy Mustang and Nina Tucker also have two actors portraying them. So far, they’re the only actors that the Fullmetal Alchemist stage play Twitter account has confirmed will return for the role.
The first stage play ran throughout March 2023 in Osaka and Tokyo. Though the official website does not give a synopsis of the stage play’s plot, it appears that it stops somewhere before Ling’s arrival in the country. However, Kimblee is also in the play as a major supporting character. In the manga, he did not really come into the picture until after Ling’s appearance. So the stage play might have changed the order of certain events.
The second Fullmetal Alchemist stage play will appear in Japan in early 2024. Tickets are not yet available.
