Sayaka Miki Joins Madoka Magica Magia Exedra Characters

Another magical girl from the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica is confirmed as a playable character in Madoka Magica Magia Exedra: Sayaka Miki. She’ll also be able to be recruited when the game launches in 2024. Ahead of that, there’s a very brief teaser trailer showing how she works in-game.

Sayaka, like Madoka, isn’t a magical girl when the original anime begins. She’s Madoka Kaname’s best friend and meets Mami Tomoe, another magical girl, alongside her. She decides to sign a contract for the sake of a boy she has a crush on. As a result of that, she gains the ability to use swords to fight, and her trailer from the game shows her using one to attack an enemy.

Eri Kitamura is also confirmed as the Sayaka Miki voice actress for Madoka Magica Magia Exedra, so she’ll be returning yet again to play the character in the game. In addition to the original anime, she’s done so for the movies, games like Madoka Magica Portable, and crossover events in other games. People may also recognize her as the voice of Keqing in Genshin Impact, Juri in Street Fighter, and Nemona in the Pokemon anime.

While Sayaka is one of the more familiar series staples, we’ve seen plenty of unexpected confirmations for this upcoming free-to-play game too. For example, Ashley Taylor will be a part of the roster. She debuted in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, rather than one of the anime or manga off-shoots.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra will be available for mobile devices and the PC in Japanese and English via Steam in 2024.
